This portfolio contains a selection of paper sculptures with wildlife and southwestern themes.
My paper sculpture process involves cutting, scoring, and shaping watercolor paper with a variety of blades and sculpting tools. After the individual pieces of paper are fully sculpted, they are carefully assembled to form a single dimensional image. My sculptures are created using only paper and no other elements. Most are enhanced with hand-brushed transparent watercolors. They are encased under glass or clear acrylic in shadow box frames or full acrylic shadow boxes ranging in depth from two to eight inches.
